The numbers are staggering. The solution is simple.
Opioid overdose is now the leading cause of accidental death in the United States. In 2023 alone, over 80,000 people died — more than car accidents and gun violence combined. Fentanyl has made the crisis faster and more unpredictable. A person can go from using to unresponsive in minutes. Bystanders are often the only ones who can help — but only if they have naloxone on them.

The problem
People want to carry Narcan. They just don't have a way to.
Naloxone is available without a prescription in all 50 states. It's inexpensive. It's easy to use. Our story
Second Chance started with a loss.
We lost someone we loved to an overdose. There was naloxone nearby — just not on anyone. That moment made one thing clear: the gap between having naloxone and having it with you is the gap between life and death. We built Second Chance to close that gap.
